At the apex of Thailand's retail sector is Central Retail Corporation Limited, a US$2 billion enterprise that has been developing the country's most successful store formats and brands. The group is now embarking on establishing a major presence in the Mainland China market and are looking for a Managing Director to lead this growth.
Job Description:
Reporting directly to the Board, the key focus of this position is to set up and successfully launch Central's first department store in China under consultation with Head Office in Bangkok. The aim being to build and continually enhance the competitive advantage and promote the Central brand image in order to create a sustainable growth platform and achieve desired profitability in the medium to long term.
The Managing Director will have overall responsibility for leading the planning and development of the first flagship store to be opened in China, located in the Greater Shanghai region.
The Successful Applicant:
To be successful you should have at last 10 years experience in retail with 5 years managing department store businesses. An in-depth understanding of retailing in mainland China is essential for this position alongside proven leadership skills and an excellent command of both English and Mandarin. A Masters degree or higher in a related field would also be an advantage.
