We are seeking an enthusiastic, people-oriented field Application Scientist to join a growing Field Applications Scientist Team supporting Agilent’s life science product portfolio. As an integral member of the Asia Pacific Sales team, you will be the primary technical contact for customers, providing technical guidance regarding the Agilent Genomics products (i.e. microarrays, microfluidics, bioinformatics and Stratagene portfolio), partnering with the sales team by delivering product demonstrations, customer trainings, and be responsible for all aspects of pre-sales and post-sales technical support. You will also be a key participant in the implementation of various marketing tactics by delivering technical presentations at conferences, workshops and creating marketing documents and competitive analysis.
Summary of Duties: - Conducts training and technical presentation on Agilent Genomics product portfolio to existing and potential customers - Works closely with sales team and regional distributors by providing presales support via on-site product demonstrations and customer visits - Providing a prompt, professional advisory service and troubleshooting technical issues related to all Agilent genomics products, applications, experimental design, and data analysis - Establishes collaborations with selected scientists or scientific groups and facilitates in new application development and creation of technical materials for presentations, publications or other marketing activities - Assists Sales Representatives in establishing and maintaining relationships with core facilities and key customer accounts. - Provides training and technical assistance to new and existing distributors and Service Providers - Participates and supports regional conferences and customer-facing activities - Gathers, complies and disseminates regional competitive activities and market intelligence - Responsible for all aspects of field implementation of beta testing for new systems and reagent products - Acts as a key contributor of customer and market feedback into Agilent to help guide continual development of products that more effectively address customers' needs.
Qualifications
- Minimum MS degree in Molecular Biology, Cellular Biology, Genetics or equivalent; PhD preferred - Solid technical knowledge in most common molecular biology techniques and extensive working knowledge in QPCR, nucleic acid manipulation, protein expression, bioanalyser and microarrays - 4~5+ yrs hands-on bio-laboratory experience is a must - 2+ yrs industrial experience specifically in a customer-facing role providing pre/post technical support within a sales organization is highly desirable - Excellent communication and public presentation skills - Strong analytical and problem solving skills - Demonstrated ability to write technical or marketing documentation, create customer-facing presentations, and to analyze complex biological data and information - Solid team player with good self management, organizational and prioritization skills - Written and oral fluency in English and Chinese - Excellent computer operation experience (PC preferred) and familiar with applications such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and NetMeeting - Flexibility in working hours and available for up to 50% business travel (available to travel within China on a regular basis and to neighboring countries on a need-basis)
