Current resourcing needs require the addition of a Transport Planner to contribute and add value to the delivery of Integrated Transport’s current portfolio of work and assist in the growth of our national and international business. A key member of the transport planning team, the role presents an extensive range of career options and opportunities working in a challenging, team-orientated environment.
JOB DESCRIPTION
A member of the Transport Planning team, the Transport Planning will be involved in a range of local and regional planning/modelling projects as well as pro-actively assisting in these project directions.
The role’s responsibilities of the role will include the following:
key contribution to strategic use of software ranging from urban models, micro-simulation model and/or demand modelling.
Assist as to project requirement’s of major transport schemes assessments and land use developments
Check sample output for compliance with quality requirements and industry best practice.
Consultation and liaison with a wide range of client groups enhancing and developing Mott MacDonald’s branding and market perceptions.
Managing and communicating client’s expectations, delivery timeframes, risk analysis and advise.
Expand internal markets within the Mott MacDonald Group
Provide key inputs to the development of business cases and potential responsibility for liaison with clients and other project stakeholders
supporting proposals benefiting business development that will work closely with the existing teams.
Working in a team environment, represent and exemplify Mott MacDonald’s PRIDE values in all actions and activities.
CANDIDATE SPECIFICATION
The candidate will need to be committed to providing high quality solutions and advice to clients and have first class communication and technical ability.
First and/or second engineering/mathematical degree (or equivalent). MSc, MA or further qualifications are of benefit but not essential.
Postgraduate qualification in Transport Planning (or equivalent) would be valued for any applicant.
Likely to have 2-4+ years' experience in transport planning with developed skills in Strategic Transport Development, appraisals, structure planning and/or Local Development frameworks.
Preferably experience and/or knowledge of SATURN, VISSIM (or equivalent) would be of benefit in this position.
Proven record of client interaction, relationship building and commercial/business awareness and acumen is essential.
Being motivated and adaptable to project demands including assisting, managing and mentoring more junior team members as required.
Professional, strong communication skills in report writing, bid drafting and communication with clients and colleagues alike.
