An excellent opportunity has arisen to join one of the worlds leading investment banks as a Java Development Team lead within its Global Risk IT department. The developer will work with the Risk Data Store team which is the primary repository for all risk data (including details of trades, positions, sensitivities, prices, counterparties, securities etc.). There are 10 developers working on RDS split between London, Singapore and New York. The successful candidate will lead the Singapore team of 3 developers.





Responsibilities



The role is as development team lead in Singapore and will involve working with risk analysts, developers on other market risk systems and business analysts in London and New York. It is a fantastic opportunity to gain domain knowledge in Market Risk.



Main responsibilities include:



•To liaise with strategic change management team within Risk Management and Measurement (RMM) to analyze the requirements needed for the risk data store system. Interaction with other IT departments within the bank who develop the bank's trading systems may also be required regarding trades, position, sensitivity and instrument data that we retrieve from these other systems.

•To analyze, design and oversee development of improvements and new functionality for the bank's risk data store (which is written using Java on UNIX). Some database query development on Oracle will also be required.

•Project management of key deliverables and accurate and timely reporting of the status of these projects to senior management.

•People leadership - ensuring that the development team is motivated to deliver to the strategic goals of the project.

•To oversee support of existing RDS components in all environments (production, business testing, user acceptance testing)





Qualifications



•Degree qualification in IT from reputable university

•Minimum of 5 years IT commercial experience with at least 3 years of Core Java exposure

•Good exposure to web applications written in Java

•Strong objected oriented analysis and design skills and evidence of good written design skills are essential

•Experience in Unix, Relational database design and knowledge of entire software development lifecycle is advantageous

•Experience in managing the delivery of a complex project and good track record of delivering to specification and to deadlines

•Excellent people management and leadership skills

•Excellent team player with proactive approach to work and good problem solving skills

•Excellent written and oral communication skills, particularly suited to international working and liaison with users
