The senior computer operator will lead and work with a team to perform 24x7 operations in the IT department for global support.
Primary Responsibilities:
1.Lead the team in day-to-day operations
a.ensure sufficient manpower to support daily operations
b.ensure quality of work performed and communications
c.ensure proper documentations are in place
2.Assist Computer Operations Manager in daily work
3.Able to fill in shift work (12 hours shift) for team members who call in absent at the last minute
Accountabilities:
The applicant should equip with basic work management concepts for System I and System P. It involves scheduling, manage and monitor of system jobs, perform backup and restoration, handling hardware devices, other resources and tape management, and able to diagnose and resolve issues encountered or escalated from team. Last but not least, he/she is expected to handle fault reports and work with vendors for resolution.
Job Specific Competencies:
Education / Experience
Degree/Diploma in Computer Science / Information Technology or relevant.
Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience in a data centre supporting multiple time-zones.
Familiar with MS office tools
Excellent trouble shooting skills with strong customer focus
Good documentation skills, with ability to develop process flows and operating procedures
Good communication and inter-personal skills at all levels
Willing to work under pressure and outside standard business hours
Have experience in working in a 24 X 7 production environment with team in 2 rotating shift
Must be a good team player with eye for details and improvement.
Able to work in fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities.
