Our client is a recognised global leader in commodities trading. The company has experienced tremendous growth in the past couple of years and the outlook for 2008 is equally bullish. A new role is being created as Global Business Controller for one of the businesses most successful products to bridge the gap between the finance and accounting support teams at head office and the business group.
Reporting to the Asia Pacific CFO, your role will be to partner the Product Division Head and commodity traders in analysing trading positions, market movements and their impact on Trading PNL. The Controller will act as a valuable commercial partner, a facilitator and a link with the finance and accounts department to share business strategy and market development on real a time basis. Having a very good understanding of the business and its undercurrents will be paramount in this role. A significant degree of travel will also be involved.
To qualify, applicants must possess:
- A university degree in Accounting, Finance or Business together with a professional accounting qualification (preferred)
- A minimum 6 years' experience in management accounting and analysis gained within a commodity trading environment
- Experience of working internationally
- Business credibility, strong senior management interface skills and excellent commercial acumen
- First class communication skills
- Operational experience within commodity trading (advantage)
