Our client is a market leading Investment Bank with a strong presence in Asia. Due to business expansion, they are seeking a highly motivated individual to join their Finance team as a Legal Entity Controller.
In this role, you will cover not only the legal entity of HK Branch but additional branches across the Asia Region. You will be mainly responsible for performing month end closing and P&L and balance sheet analysis for month end submission. In addition you will prepare and review the financial package, investigate the nostro reconciliations and aging account review . Furthermore, you will support financial and product system enhancements or initiatives. This role will be a good introduction to the controller function within the firm as it carries exposure to many different finance and support groups .
To qualify, individuals must possess:
-A degree in a relevant discipline and accounting qualification
-At least 5 years of experience in either external audit or financial management; ideally with a Big 4 background
-Knowledge of HKMA and US regulatory requirements
-Good understanding of US GAAP and knowledge of financial products
-An analytical mind and communication skills
-A willingness to learn to use different financial systems and understanding of control framework
