Divisional Overview



The Operations & Product Control IT (OPCIT) division brings together the business departments of Operations and Product Control. The Operations business department is responsible for the straight through processing (STP) of the trading activity of the Firm, with the Product Control business department being responsible for the profit and loss (P&L) statements and the balance sheet resulting from that trading activity. To provide the optimum service level to these business departments there is a mirror IT division, ISIS IT, that combines the global application development services for Operations IT and Product Control IT into a single global division.





Departmental Overview



Product Control IT - provides Information Technology Services for the Product Controllers. Product Control IT supports a diverse range of applications and technologies to support the entities and products processed by the business. These systems provide financial data relating to Inventory, Valuations, Profit & Loss details to Product Controllers and other business departments within the firm.





Business analyst with project management skills, who is expected to work with Business users, Change Management and Delivery team to facilitate/deliver projects within the region.





Responsibilities to include the following:



•Assist in driving Regional Projects, SWAT BOW and Production support BOW delivery covering all phases of SDLC

•Face off to regional clients and change management team to understand business requirements and propose solutions

•Interface with global/regional delivery teams to ensure timely delivery

•Assist in maintenance and prioritization of the SWAT BOW and Production BOW.

•Carry out business analysis, impact analysis, gap analysis and system analysis where required and ensure these are well documented.

•Prepare Project plan and test plan. Engage required parties in the Delivery team and Business users to ensure delivery. Track and co-ordinate tasks to ensure timely completion and raise risks/issues where identified.

•Prepare functional/technical specifications and work closely with delivery team to ensure that they understand the specifications and Deliver IT solutions for the SWAT items.

•Prepare test packs and co-ordinate Unit testing, System Integration testing, Regression testing and UAT with Regional/Global teams

•Understand CS SOX/SDLC requirements and ensure all IT delivery conform to those standards

•Develop expertise on all components involved in the Product Control architecture in the region and contribute to Business process and IT process improvements

•Assist in providing management updates on Resource Utilization, Department scorecards, statistical updates on Production / UAT Issues etc.

•Contribute in improving client relationship and management.





Qualifications and Experience



•Graduate Degree with Finance or Computing as a major.

•Minimum 2 years of Business analyst experience in addition to 5 years of IT industry experience

•Extensive experience in Business Analysis with exposure to Project Management Function

•Strong fundamental knowledge on Financial Products in the Investment Banking industry

•Strong fundamental knowledge on Trade flow and Back office processes in an Investment bank.

•Good understanding of Relational Database management systems like ORACLE or SYBASE

•Good understanding of ETL tools

•Good understanding of major programming languages like C, JAVA

•Good understanding of Batch Automation Tools

•Basic understanding of Reporting Tools

•Strong inter-personal and management skills

•Analytical and logical thinker with good problem solving skills
