(Position based in Chengdu, China)

Responsibilities:

• Identify, plan and execute external and internal corporate communications strategies and programs for Western China markets;
• Develop and manage corporate events to facilitate and reinforce market/brand awareness;
• Develop and implement sustainable media relations programs and advertising strategies/programs, particularly co-branding opportunities; maintain strong relationships with local media and agencies and initiate press releases, media briefings, etc. to regularly raise visibility in the target press outlets;
• Identify high-profile public speaking opportunities for business leaders to ensure high-level visibility in the local market;
• Identify and organize community activities and engage participation of local employees;
• Promote and encourage employee communications and internal info-sharing (brand training for new hires, news bulletins etc.) to ensure consistency of brand-related initiatives for local offices;
• Ensure timely updates and maintenance of corporate websites;
• Effectively source, manage and supervise external vendors and occasional use of agencies; and
• Work closely and cooperate with the Greater China Corporate Communications and Marketing team and the local Managing Directors, Department Heads and Personal Assistants to Managing Directors.

Requirements:

• Degree holder preferably in communications/journalism/public relations/marketing or related discipline with at least five years of relevant experience;
• Experience working for a public relations agency and/or in-house corporate role;
• Excellent command of spoken and written English and Mandarin;
• Proficient user of Word, PowerPoint, Excel and refined knowledge of computer tools;
• Good communication, planning/organization, inter-personal skills;
• Proactive, independent, self-motivated and creative;
• Committed, highly flexible, and willing to learn and take up new responsibilities; and
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
